The comedian, 48, filmed himself in the shower for a new Instagram video, where he took the opportunity to praise wife Christine, 33, whose new book A Beautiful Nightmare sold out on Amazon.

Paddy couldn’t help blow his own trumpet however as he was quick to remind fans that Christine wasn’t the only author in the family, before plugging his own upcoming book signing.

The Take Me Out star could be seen showing off his toned torso which was covered in soap suds as he enjoyed his refreshing rinse.

Speaking into the camera, which was perched at a safe distance from the water, Paddy congratulated his ‘good lady wife’, who’s book sold out on the retail giant’s website on the very same day it was released.

As he continued his ‘shower news’, he plugged his book signing before adding: ‘The main thing is, two successful authors living under the same roof.’

Paddy, who thoroughly washed his hair in the short clip, went on to joke that ‘the other successful author’ will probably be driving him to his event.

It comes as the trailer for the couple’s upcoming BBC documentary recently dropped, showing the Top Gear presenter breaking down in tears over their children’s autism as he asks: ‘will they ever know how loved they are?’

Paddy and Christine have three children, eight year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and five year-old Felicity, who have all been diagnosed with autism.

Autism is a condition that means your brain works in a different way from other people, and can impact how you interact with the world, and the couple will explore their families experiences in a new documentary.

Speaking in the trailer for Our Family and Autism, Paddy explained: ‘Christine and I have three beautiful children diagnosed with autism.’

‘When we first got told I was so upset about it because I didn’t understand it,’ confessed his wife.

Getting emotional, Paddy admitted: ‘What gets to me with them all is will they ever know how loved they are?’

‘We’re still trying to work out what it all means for our family and our future,’ continued the presenter.

While footage of him shedding a tear and being comforted by Christine played out, Paddy could be heard explaining: ‘Autism is a part of who they are now. Why would I want to take away part of my children?’

The raw and intimate documentary made over many months, follows Paddy and Christine at home, as well as meeting other parents, experts, and people on the autism spectrum.
