Kate, 53, has now returned to work as a doctor in Leicester. This return to work comes after Kate’s daughter went missing in Portugal 14 years ago. Husband Gerry McCann, 53, was working as a GP when three-year-old Madeleine disappeared on holiday in Portugal in 2007.
Following her daughter’s disappearance, Kate left her career with the NHS and became an ambassador for several children’s charities.
However, Kate now joins the NHS amid the nation’s battle against coronavirus.
Gerry is a Professor of Cardiac Imaging at the University of Leicester.
He is a renowned consultant cardiologist at several Leicester hospitals.
It has been reported that Kate is enjoying her time back at work.
Friends have praised her for “throwing herself back into a full-time job to assist others in need”.
A friend of the family spoke to The Sun and said: “Kate’s back working as a doctor.
“She’s helping out at her local hospitals now and not doing any surgery work.
