George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces viewers went wild over a series of ‘beautiful’ converted grain silos featured on the programme last night.

On the Channel 4 show last night, the presenter visited the property in Rutland, which was made up of three former grain silos and four shepherd huts.

George was blown away by the space inside, which had been transformed into a stunning three bedroom property, and was connected by a series of glazed walkways.

Many of those watching heaped praise on the project, with one writing: ‘Snazzy designed shepherds huts! Loved the salvaged sports flooring, complete with old tape court markings. And the disco ball!’

However others were a little less sure about the decision to use one of the main spaces as a bathroom.

One person commented: ‘Why would you have that silo be a bathroom? What a waste of what could have been an incredible living space!’

‘Such a waste. It’s beautiful though.’

Arriving at the property in Rutland, George explained: ‘I’m here to see what happens when you take three grain silos and four shepherds huts and merge them all together to make a supersize glamping pod.’

He called it ‘truly something else’, adding: ‘Together, that is unique.’

There was a wetland wildlife pond, large deck and a woodfired hot tub, before you even got inside.

And George was blown away by the interior decorating,  saying: ‘I was not expecting that, look how beautiful this is.

‘You’ve got the wonderful conical  roof going up to a sky light, finished in a beautiful warm plywood.

‘Look at the floor. It’s reused from a sports hall floor from an army base.’

One of the silos was being used as a kitchen, with George saying: ‘I love that.’

The kitchen, living room and bedrooms may have all been stylish, but the masterpiece was in the final silo – a huge bathroom.

George said: ‘What a grand entrance, it’s the most fantastic way of walking into a space which just has a bath in it.

‘And to make this bathroom even more grand, they’ve taken a hand carved fireplace from a manor house and put it in the bathroom. A stunning feature in the space.’

He said: ‘Who would think to put a glitter ball inside a Georgian inspired bathroom, inside a grain silo?’

Meanwhile viewers went wild over the project, with one writing: ‘Wow these silos look fabulous.

‘Glitter ball in the bathroom? Oooh giving me ideas.’
