Emma Hayes has revealed she lost her hair salon in a fire that tore through a Brisbane shopping complex in the early hours of Thursday morning.

In a series on posts on social media on Thursday, the 34-year-old former Farmer Wants A Wife star said she was ‘devastated’ and ‘absolutely heartbroken’.   

‘Yes it’s true, my/our salon has burnt down. I’ll be in touch with everyone soon! We need your love!’ she wrote on Facebook.

Emma later thanked her followers for reaching out, and said she’d been left ‘absolutely heartbroken’ by the blaze.

‘We are devastated! I am so grateful to my amazing team and our community! And that no one was hurt,’ she later added. 

‘Thank you for all the kind words and offers of salons to operate in, we need all the help we can get at this time.

Sharing a series of photos and videos from the devastating fire, Emma revealed the blaze had started at around 4.34am, calling it ‘a day I’ll never forget’.    

‘Words will never explain how I feel, these pics are from my accountant who was on the way to his office. Corey, I don’t know what I would do without you. I don’t think I would believe anyone else if they called me with that news,’ she captioned the post.

‘He was the first to call me, I was at Ronald McDonald house for the night looking after one of my darling friend’s little boy, while she was in the children’s hospital with her baby girl who is receiving chemotherapy. 

‘In perspective a building can be rebuilt. I feel extremely sad and I can’t stop shaking but I know with all of my people I’ll be okay!’

According to a report by The Courier Mail on Thursday, at least 10 businesses were ‘heavily damaged’ in the fire.

The blaze broke out at a nearby Chemist Warehouse at around 4.25am, with 23 fire crews rushing to the scene on Old Cleveland Road in Capalaba.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire had spread through the shopping complex’s ‘connected roofing’ and was extinguished by 8.30am. 

Emma – who appeared on last year’s season of FWAW – had only revealed five days earlier that she was in the process of ‘building my dream salon’.
